I made a full skirt

The fabric was the inspiration for this skirt. It is another voile from Spotlight. I immediately thought of my sister and a full mid-length skirt when I saw it.

I used this tutorial. It is a pretty good one. I made a few mistakes but got there in the end. I ended up top-stitching the waistband down because I tried to hand stitch but just couldn't get it looking professional enough- or secure enough for that matter. My hand-stitching is pretty average. I was worried the top-stitching might look amateur but I'm glad I did it. I also machine-hemmed the bottom because by this morning, I was over it.

I had to add lining to mine because the fabric was so thin. Lovely Carolyn gave me some advice for that. This was the recommended gathering method and it was AWESOME- will definitely be using it again!

Now it is off to Melbourne for Peta. Best sister in the world award for me, perhaps?!
